Frequently asked questions
Can Copisto really open my .pub files?
Yes. Our migration engine converts .pub files from Publisher 2007 through 2021 into editable Copisto documents. We preserve your text content, images, and page layout. Complex elements like mail merge fields or OLE objects may not transfer, but the vast majority of typical Publisher documents convert with high fidelity.
What is happening with Microsoft Publisher?
Microsoft has announced that Publisher will be removed from Microsoft 365 in October 2026. After that date, the application will no longer ship with Office, and .pub files will become increasingly difficult to open or edit. Copisto gives organizations a clear migration path.
Can our whole team use it?
Yes. Copisto is browser-based and priced per user, so you can add team members as your organization grows. Each user gets their own login with access from any device. Windows, Mac, Chromebook, or tablet.
What happens to my files if I cancel?
You can export all your documents as PDFs before canceling. Your files are stored securely in the cloud and remain available for 90 days after cancellation so you have plenty of time to download everything.
How is this different from Canva or InDesign?
Canva is great for social media graphics but lacks proper page-layout tools for multi-page documents. InDesign is powerful but expensive, complex, and also cannot open .pub files. Copisto sits right in the middle: purpose-built for page-layout publishing with a familiar interface that does not require design training.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Documents are stored in isolated cloud storage. We never share your data with third parties, and we never use your documents to train AI models.
